Black Men Build

I’ve been tracking the evolution of Black Men Build since it was just an idea. I am moved and made optimistic by bearing witness to the effort. In a time of racial uprising. In a movement that seeks the leadership of Black women, queer and trans people. In this period when masculinity must be reimagined. It is good to celebrate the good people on the effort.

If you haven’t seen it yet, take the two minutes and just BE with this video. The movement has a website where you can learn about its values, what it does and how it’s structured. And I am feeling especially appreciative of this conversation on culture and masculinity by Phil Agnew and Prentis Hemphill on the Finding Our Way Podcast.

I love that the Better Men Project is a multiracial, intergenerational effort. And it is alway good, always important, to support and celebrate what Black people are doing for Black people.
