New Coaching Rates
I am experimenting with ways to rebalance my “work equation.” The time I spend facilitating, doing deep healing work, and coaching remarkable leaders.
I am opening up more coaching slots.
So I am experimenting with lowering my coaching rate by 20% for clients who sign up between now and December.
We are slowly upgrading our coaching page. Click here to learn more about my approach. And see if you want to schedule an exploratory conversation.
I would also love to get any feedback you have on how we are presenting the coaching option.
When you almost die, but don’t
(or… a shortcut to getting wise)
Since I have your attention, I want to tell you about Ric Elias. The remarkably successful founder and CEO of Red Ventures. Ric happened to be on the first row of Captain Tully’s plane. Certain of his own death, until that unbelievable “landing” on the Hudson River.
I listened to a podcast interview with Ric Elias and I want to tell you about him. I want to tell you about Ric not just because he is Puerto Rican, and you already know how much I love Puerto Ricans! I want to tell you about him because his story has everything to do with my coaching.
No. I am not pretending that if I become your coach you too will become the leader of an eleven billion dollar company.
I want to tell you about Ric Elias because he has attained a profound depth of wisdom. And he has become successful in the process. The best leadership coaching is really about the path of wisdom.
So as I listen to Ric Elias, I start to ask how do you learn:
To Live Without Regret
How do you fully embody the understanding that life can change in an instant? So that you learn to live with "intense purpose every day." How do you learn to focus on saying and doing the things that truly matter? How do you get to a place within you from which you can vow not to delay expressions of love, forgiveness, or action? So that you do not regret anything if life suddenly ends.
Let Go of Ego
How can we make it possible to recognize how much of our lives are driven by ego? Driven by comparison, by a desire to be better or more than others? Is it possible to shed these concerns? To allow ourselves to live more authentically and kindly, both to our own selves and to others?
The Power of Forgiveness
Can you realize the importance of forgiving yourself? Your tendency to punish yourself? Because it is this self-forgiveness that begins to change our internal dialogue. Self-forgiveness allows us to live more lightly, free from the burdens of guilt and ego. It is what allows us to forgive others, even when apologies are not offered. This is how you discover the liberating power of a life without resentments.
How do you learn these things without having to miraculously survive what was supposed to be a plane crash?
This is what I’m after with my coaching. I want to create the conditions for these profound realizations. For a meaningful change in your posture. I want to support you in living your truest, most authentic life. In walking the narrow path of wisdom. In becoming a light upon the world. Touching your family, your friends, and the people that you work with.
I want to help you become an exemplary leader.
Because wise leaders make culture. And we need to change our culture. Culture begins where you are, at home, in your community. And in the organizations you are a part of. In the very nature of your interactions.
You can read all the books. You can know exactly what needs to happen. You can even know who needs to do it and how.
But it matters very little, if you don’t know how to embody it.
You have to be the one that lives it.
Ric seems to be a master at building culture. The culture of his own organization, but also in the organizations they’ve acquired. All the way to one of Puerto Rico’s basketball teams.
He says that culture is about:
Creating a Sense of Belonging
Successful teams and organizations thrive when people feel connected to something bigger than themselves. This sense of belonging is what motivates people to work hard and contribute meaningfully.
Team-First Philosophy
Exceptional teams are built when the focus is on the collective rather than individual players. This shift from a "player-first" to a "team-first" culture fosters loyalty, collaboration, and long-term success.
Consistency and Integrity:
Culture thrives when there is consistency in behavior and decision-making. Leaders must embody the values they want to see reflected in the organization, demonstrating integrity by following through on their commitments.
When we work together
We bring our attention to the whole thing. To challenges and aspirations in your work life, and to the unfolding of your inner world. To your relationship with yourself, and with life itself. We work towards alignment and attunement. We define practices. And we experiment with solutions. Our goal is to unlock a new level of freedom and expression.
