Man Psychology

Thank you for doing the work of becoming better men. The author’s of “King, Warrior, Magician, Lover” open the section on man psychology by asserting that: “Man psychology... has perhaps always been a rare thing on our planet. It is certainly a rare thing today.”

If by man psychology they are referring to conscious masculinity, then I certainly agree with them, at least when they are talking about our day.

These are the cards as they have been handed to us. We were born into a society and a culture that is largely bereft of the circles, rites and initiations to help us become full grown men.

Here again I turn to the authors:

There’s a saying in psychology that we have to take responsibility for what we’re not responsible for. This means that we are not responsible (as no infant is) for what happened to us to stunt us and to fixate us in our early years when our personalities were formed and when we got stuck at immature levels of masculinity. [But we must still take responsibility for it.]

So…

What are you willing to take responsibility for?

What does it mean to take responsibility?

How do you enact this process of becoming a conscious man?

Our call is on Labor Day, Monday, September 6 at 8:30PM East. We always welcome men who are joining for the first time. This week you are invited to read pages 43-45 (just THREE pages!) of King, Warrior, Magician Lover.

See you next week.

Saludos,

Gibrán
