Men and Abortion

The Supreme Court’s decision to take away a woman’s right over her body cannot be seen as a woman’s issue.

We cannot be the Better Men Project without addressing the issue.

This month we will pause our study of King, Warrior, Magician, Lover and take a dive into what this ruling means for the men’s movement.

Please e-mail me directly if you have a story of abortion and how it has impacted you. We want to give you an opportunity to share.

Let’s get deep into the complexity of feeling that these experiences bring up. And let’s have a real conversation about what is ours to do.

I have been away during this period, we were in Puerto Rico bringing home my Abuela’s ashes. So here I want to copy and paste a helpful e-mail I got from Lawrence Barriner II (see below).

Remember, we are choosing not to meet on July 4 (we usually meet on the 1st Monday of the month). But I hope to see you on Monday, July 11 instead.

Saludos,

Gibrán

PSS I found this to be a poignant campaign

hey yall,

just wanted to share these two things that i've heard about from folks who have been paying attention to this issue for a while:

first, this resource doc that i got from mariame kaba. she has been sharing it since the draft opinion leaked months ago. it's relatively short. please read it and share it.

second, this National Abortion Access Fund for Survivors from sonya passi (chani nicholas' partner) who runs free from, which supports survivors to thrive economically.

that's all for now.

as adrienne reminded us in 2016 and has continued to do remind us:

things are not getting worse, they are getting uncovered. we must hold each other tight & continue to pull back the veil. — adrienne maree brown

sending deep breaths, big hugs, and hopes for grounded and skillful action for us all.

peace!
